This book really was an enjoyable read for me, and I plowed right through it. The premise is interesting, the comedy is spot on, and the combat is a joy. It's hard to tell what specifically I liked about this book, since it really all flowed together so well. I think first is the comedy. Having an adult in a child's body makes for some really funny moments, especially when the main character is an infant. I also really enjoyed the fight scenes, which showcased a toddler jumping around killing adult. It was told in a way so I could visualize what was happening and I can tell you some of these scene are very hype. I did take off one star for the book's glaring issue: info dumps. Heck, the book start with it. It become less frequent toward the end of the book, dare I say tolerable, that doesn't change the fact that the beginning is riddled with it. My advice to you: skip it. I did, wasn't confused once. I've also noticed quite a few reviews comment on the poor quality of the writing, and though I think it is no masterpiece, I only really noticed the tense of the writing flipping. I don't know if it's because I read through it and enjoyed it so well or if the book has been updated with a more recent addition since the reviews, but I believe that it is the latter as I have purchased the sequel and noticed a lot of issues that weren't present in this book. If you're interested, I'd give this book a shot. You might be presently surprised (just skip the info dumps).Product details

Early Years The Beginning After The End Book 1 eBook TurtleMe Reviews
A well-written fantasy-adventure tale that sparked nostalgic memories about reading oldschool Dragonlance booklets. My only wish would be for the book to have been longer. However, it clearly states that this is only book one. So, I look forward to more releases from this author!
I was curious about the book after seeing it a couple times in my recommendations. I downloaded the sample and ended up buying the book a few minutes later. I would rate it with five stars but there are a few grammar issues that could have been fixed. Otherwise I enjoyed the book and moving on to the next one.
The story is solid, there aren't too many errors as far as grammar and story continuity go. But I can't get over that every time 2 or more people are addressed the phrase "you guys" is used, regardless of who is speaking or if the phrase was used 6 words ago. It's not grammatically wrong but it is annoying that there is absolutely no variation, no "you", "you all", or "everyone" it's ALWAYS "you guys" even if it's a king or queen talking.
The important thing here is whether you can get past the writing style. I will be the first to admit that this books needs an editor. This becomes obvious in the first few pages.
The authors switches between a first person narrative and a journal of events narrative frequently, sometimes several switches occur on the same page. It never gets to the point of confusion or annoyance though, and I was able to stay engaged throughout the entire book. If you are a reader whose books need to be well edited and grammar mistake free than this book is not for you.
If you can get past this unique writing style however, you'll find a story unlike many that I have read In the past several years. There are the usual tropes, such as the overpowered Mc, but these are done in a refreshing way, as a baby, that make it fun and entertaining to watch as adults react to this prodigy.
I picked this book up looking for a cheap easy read, then read the entire book in three hours. I the immediately bought the second. I would definitely recommend this book.
These are good stories... it's just a shame that TurtleMe didn't have someone else edit these books.
The amount of typos and grammatical errors are exceedingly high. The author seems to have a major problem with tence (ie past, present and future tence), repeated and undeleted repeated words in sentences, on top of just plain using the wrong words. Follow through is also a problem; not keeping track of who is speaking, which point of view he is writing from and things like using 'we' for 'me', 'he' for 'she' and vice versa, etc.
But even so, I enjoyed the storyline most of time. His explanations of the workings of things, gets very convoluted, and I'm pretty sure occasionally it even disagrees with itself.
All that said and done, I would love to see this author put his (her? Although this pen name makes me think 'male' from the get go), big girl panties on and get his work to another editor, who would eadily clean this series up of 99% of the mistakes. He (she) would then be able to really make a name for himself.
This is a great twist on the fantasy novel. It is a quick and enjoyable read. It would easily be a 5 star if the editing was better, but it isn't a deal breaker. The characters are well developed and the hero is someone you can root for. There is a fair amount of humor and some genuine twists in the plot. All in all, for the price you can't beat it.
If I understand correctly he writes a bunch of chapters and when he gets a certain number he publishes a book, so the book will end unexpectedly without a polished ending. It would be better for you if you look at this as one big unending novel, with the end of the book being a "to be continued...). If you go to his facebook page you can read each chapter as it is written.
I loved this book! I read the sample, and fell for the writing style. The story line is good and spin off from our world works. A little over detailed concerning the magic system, but it is the driving force of the book; my wife was a little put off from the details of the magic system, but I got the necessity of it. I laughed through several sections of this book, and highly recommend it. I burned through the series in one weekend. So writer person please get busy and get it out, the fourth book left me hanging really bad; and it was so not nice.... Just saying.
